Abstract:Abstract: Karst soils with high calcium levels restrict plant growth, which then affects crop yield and quality. At present, little research has been done on the mechanisms of plants responding to high calcium stress. miRNAs play important roles in plant responses to biotic and abiotic stress. Herein, twelve high calcium-responsive Arabidopsis miRNAs were identified using high-throughput sequencing and strictly standardized statistical analysis, and their target genes were predicted and analyzed. Real-time quantitative PCR analysis confirmed that expressions of most of the differentially expressed miRNAs were negatively correlated with those of their target genes. This study provides a theoretical basis for revealing the mechanisms of plants responding to high calcium stress and the roles of miRNAs in this process.
