Abstract:Abstract: Bioinformatics was used to predict the physicochemical properties, signal peptide, transmembrane domain, hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity, secondary and tertiary structures, protein-protein interaction and gene ontology (GO) of ligand-gated ion channel receptor P2X1 in humans. The results showed that P2X1 protein is a hydrophilic protein with two transmembrane domains, and consists of 399 amino acids. The isoelectric point of P2X1 protein is 8.75. The protein has a section of nuclear location sequence. The secondary structure analysis showed that it contains 6 α helices and 15 β sheets. The reliability of predicted three-dimensional structure of human P2X1 was up to 45.35%. The predicted structure was stable by Ramachandran plot analysis. The proteins interacting with P2X1 were purinergic receptors and cation channels which act as signal transduction factors. The P2X1 protein can take part in some physiological processes such as intravascular coagulation, inflammation and so on. The predicted results provide important messages for further study of P2X1’s effects in physiological processes and clinical treatment.
