AbstractAbstract: Dengue fever (DF) is an acute infectious disease caused by dengue virus (DENV) types 1~4. Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) is the main reason of self-limited dengue fever (DF), life-threatening dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS). Different dilutions of anti-DENV2 prM antibody and DENV3 isolated from a patient in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, were mixed to infect the THP-1 cells. Analysis with real-time quantitative fluorescent PCR demonstrated that the viral load was higher in the THP-1 supernatant fluid when a sub-neutralizing concentration of prM antibody was used. The study on THP-1 cell line lays a foundation for subsequent experiments on ADE of dengue virus infection.
