Abstract:Abstract: Sperm acrosome reaction is the intracellular multipoint fusion of the sperm plasma membrane with the outer acrosomal membrane and is a special process of exocytosis. It is a complicated and rigorous physiological process, which not only needs inducers, but also requires the participation of various relevant membrane fusion proteins. SNAREs and their associated proteins can regulate mammalian cellular fusion, especially playing an important role in the process of the sperm acrosome reaction. SNAREs, as the core component, interact with their associated proteins in this process. Here, the role of SNAREs and their associated proteins including Rab, Munc-18, complexin, synaptotagmin and α-SNAP in sperm acrosome reaction were reviewed comprehensively.
