Abstract:Abstract: Macleaya cordata is a kind of important medicinal herb with wide market prospect. Here, the leaves of Macleaya cordata aseptic plants were used as explants, and the Macleaya cordata genetic transformation system was initially established for gene transformation by optimizing antibiotic concentrations. By using Agrobacterium-mediated method, the MtDREB1C gene was successfully introduced into the plant cells, and kanamycin-resistant transgenic plants were obtained. Fifty of them were chosen randomly for PCR analysis, and among them, three were shown to be positive for the MtDREB1C gene insertion (6%). The research lays the foundation for molecular breeding of Macleaya cordata, and indicates that the genetic engineering could be a new way for genetic improvement of the plant.
