Abstract:Abstract: Analytical ultracentrifugation is widely considered as a classical method in biochemical and molecular biological studies. The principle of this method is based on the first law of thermodynamics and basics of hydrodynamics. The analytical ultracentrifuges are often used to study the behaviors of proteins, nucleic acids and other polymers, as well as their diverse complexes in solutions. Here, the equipment components, detailed principles and data analyses of analytical ultracentrifugation and its current applications were reviewed. In addition, the potential applications of this technology were also summarized and predicted, aiming to give rise to the interests on the performance from researchers.
