Abstract:Abstract: Effects of different colours and odorants on oriental behavior of fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis, in feeding, oviposition and tropism respond, were studied . The results showed that the flies strongly preferred green food when they foraged. The orange food followed, the yellow and red food is the weakest. There were no significant differences between female and male flies in this experiment. Compared to white and green substrate, the yellow was the first choice for female flies when they laid eggs, and the green substrate followed. In the Y-tube olfactory test, Bactrocera dorsalis had obviously trends to the smell of ethyl acetate, sugar, honey and yeast extract, respectively. However, they had no significant trend to the smell of brown sugar, and were obviously repellent for acetic acid. In addition, the female flies displayed more sensitive than the male ones in the olfactory respond.
