Abstract:Abstract: It has been discovered that mitochondrial cell apoptosis have close relation with some diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, etc. The regulation of the Bcl-2 family proteins plays important roles in the treatment of these diseases. It has been confirmed that the PI3K/Akt (phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase/serine/threonine protein kinase) is one of the major signaling pathway that regulars cell survival, proliferation and apoptosis by affecting the activity of down-tream effector molecules (Bcl-xL, Bcl-w, Mcl-1, A1, Bax, Bak, Bim, Bad, Bid etc). The relevance of the PI3K/Akt and apoptosis-related factors of mitochondrial were reviewed, which would discover some key targets, providing a therapeutic approach for apoptosis-related diseases.
