Abstract:Abstract: A female and a male bats were found through mist net in Xianfei Cave (26°58′25″N, 113°3′23″E, alt. 463 m), Sifang mountain, Hengdong County, Hunan Province, during the survery of mammals in Luoxiao mountains on July 26th, 2015 and July 28th, 2016, respectively. The samples were identified as Horsfield’s Leaf-nosed Bat (Hipposideros larvatus) based on its external morphology, skull characteristics and molecular data. The bats are medium-sized, with the head-body lengths 66.46 mm and 69.19 mm, and the skull lengths 22.14 mm and 21.88 mm, respectively. Their dental formula is 1.1.2.3/2.1.2.3=30. Maximum likelihood tree based on Cyt b sequences was constructed. The cladogram indicated the bats are not in the sister group to Hainan population. The samples were preserved in the Museum of Vertebrate Specimens at Hunan Normal University.
