Abstract:Abstract: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a chronic progressive neurodegenerative disease, and amyloid β-pro-tein (Aβ) deposit derived senile plaques (SPs) in the brain are one of the main pathological features. The Aβ cascade theory has also become one of the most recognized hot topics in the study of AD pathogenesis. This paper reviews the research progress of Aβ cascade in AD, including Aβ-induced neuronal apoptosis, synap-tic dysfunction, neuroinflammation and tau protein hyperphosphorylation, etc, and may provide support for further integrated and holistic research on Aβ cascade mechanism of AD.
