| Fluxapyroxad Disrupts Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Swim Bladder Development |

Abstract As an essential organ for teleost fish, the swim bladder is highly susceptible to various environ-mental pollutants. Fluxapyroxad, a type of fungicide that inhibits succinate dehydrogenase, has been found to have toxic effects on fish nervous system, cardiovascular system and development. In order to investigate the potential impact of fluxapyroxad on swim bladder development in zebrafish, zebrafish embryos were exposed to different concentrations of the fungicide. The resulting swim bladder phenotypes in the zebrafish larvae were documented. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to examine histological changes in the swim bladder of the larvae, while whole-mount in situ hybridization was used to compare changes in the expression pat-terns of marker genes involved in swim bladder development after embryonic exposure to fluxapyroxad. The findings revealed that exposure to fluxapyroxad led to abnormal development of the swim bladder in the ze-brafish larvae and significantly suppressed the expression levels of marker genes (elovl1a and anxa5b) invol-ved in swim bladder development. This study provides valuable references for evaluating the impact of fluxapyroxad on the swim bladder development of zebrafish larvae, and may contribute to a better under-standing of the potential risks of fluxapyroxad to aquatic ecosystems.
